Meralco Bolts head coach Norman Black does not know what had really transpired between assistant coach Jimmy Alapag and bruiser Kelly Nabong during the latter part of their semis match with Star Hotshots Sunday night.
The altercation had taken place during the early part of their late-game offensive run, or after forward Ranidel De Ocampo’s top-of-the-key triple had brought them to within three, 66-63, with 2:37 left, to be exact.
The two were seen trading words from opposite ends of the bench, just moments after having a one-on-one talk.
Moreover, Nabong, a five-year league veteran, did not join the team during the post-game exchange of pleasantries with Star, immediately bolting to the locker room.
Witnesses at the Alonte told Tiebreaker Times that Nabong had destroyed the pane of their locker room’s door at the Alonte Sports Arena before storming off.
Still, the reason behind the apparent fracas remains a mystery, but the veteran coach assured that he will sort it out right away.
“I dont really know the whole story,” admitted Black, not wanting this incident to cloud their epic 72-66 win.
“But I’ll sort it out tomorrow and I’ll take care of it.”
