Green Spikers earn third win at Red Spikers’ expense

Cagayan De Oro natives Cris Dumago and Raymark Woo took charge as the De La Salle University Green Spikers outlasted the San Beda College Red Spikers, 25-18, 23-25, 25-18, 32-30, in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

Dumago and Woo piled up the crucial points for the Green Spikers that closed out a heated fourth set. The dimimutive Dumago finished with a game-high 23 points, while Raymark Woo, still recovering from an ACL tear, added 19 markers.

“Inaayos pa namin talaga ‘yung gelling namin sa loob ng court. May mga errors kami kanina na kaya namin talaga iwasan. Inaayos pa namin ‘yun. Pero masaya kami sa nakuha naming panalo,” said UAAP Season 78 Best Scorer Raymark Woo.

Earl Gonzales topped the Red Spikers with 16 points. Transferee Jomaru Amagan added 11.

The Green Spikers remain in the Final Four hunt with a 3-2 record. They take on the undefeated defending champs Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles (5-0) on September 23. San Beda (1-3) face the winless College of Saint Benilde Blazers (0-3) on September 25.
