Mika Reyes joins Petron

A change of scenery for Mika Reyes

Volleyball star Mika Reyes has made her transfer official, having signed with the Petron Blaze Spikers and leaving her former De La Salle University teammates and coaches in F2 Logistics behind.

The 2016 PSL ambassadress made it known that she had been thinking about a change of scenery since the end of the PSL Grand Prix last December.

The three-time UAAP champion signed her deal with manager Charlie Dy and San Miguel Corporation Sports Director Al Francis Chua earlier today, according to reports.PSL-AFC-2016-F2-vs.-Petron-Reyes-2930 Mika Reyes joins Petron News PSL Volleyball - philippine sports news

“It was indeed a very tough decision, but Petron made it easier as we’ve laid out concrete plans for my personal and volleyball career,” Reyes told Volleyverse.

The 22-year-old middle blocker comes off a marvelous run in 2016, winning the UAAP championship in her final year of eligibility and following up by anchoring F2 Logistics to the All-Filipino title. She also joined the F2 Logistics-PSL Manila team during the 2016 FIVB Women’s Club World Championship.

The middle blocker joins a Petron squad that dropped key players in CJ Rosario, Cherry Nunag, and Maica Morada due to a lackluster season.

According to numerous sources, Petron are looking to make several other blockbuster acquisitions like Rachel Ann Daquis and current members of the University of Santo Tomas Tigresses.
