TNT Katropa floor general Jayson Castro settled for the next best thing this conference, as he was crowned as the conference’s Best Player in the 2016 PBA Governors Cup, Sunday evening at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Accumulating a 38.3 statistical points this conference, the Pampanga native was able to edge out San Miguel Beermen center June Mar Fajardo for the crown (37.8 SPs).
This is Castro’s fourth BPC crown.
Meralco’s Allen Durham was honored as this conference’s Best Import. Throughout the season, he was an unstoppable force, posting norms of 29.4 markers, 15.2 boards, 4.9 dimes, and 1.4 swats per outing.
Durham led the Bolts to their first-ever finals appearance.
