No one in the UAAP plays with as much fire as the Far Eastern University team captain Remy Palma.
Trash talking, stare downs, fist pumps — you name it, Palma does it without reservations.
In the Lady Tams’ do-or-die match against the De La Salle University last Sunday, Palma was in full tilt. Her spirited play helped FEU overcome a 0-2 set deficit and force a do-or-die match on Wednesday at the SM MoA Arena for the last Final Four spot.
“Kami sobrang saya namin after ng match. Kahit sobrang haba ng game, worth it lahat ng pagod namin,” Palma told Tiebreker Times.
Palma not only tore up DLSU’s defense with 18 points, she also relentlessly psyched out the Lady Spikers through her constant talking.
She and La Salle middle hitter Mika Reyes have had their verbal wars over the years. It turns out, Palma relishes her matchups with the former Best Blocker.
As the team captain, Palma is wary of keeping her team’s emotions in check. Although the win was momentous, FEU still need to win one more match to enter the Finals, their first since Season 71.
