Twisted Minds snapped a five-game losing streak with a thrilling 2-1 victory over AP.Bren in Week 3 of the MPL Philippines Season 13 at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City on Saturday.
With the win, Twisted Minds improved to 1-5, climbing to seventh place while sending AP.Bren to the bottom of the standings with a 0-4 record.
The feeling of victory eluded Twisted Minds in the first two weeks of the season and coach Kristoffer “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza believes that his breakthrough will motivate his boys more as they make a run for the playoffs.
“Pansin ko naman na nafeel talaga nila, naalala talaga nila kung ano ang pakiramdam ng nananalo. Yun yung sobrang wala kami. Yung maexperience lang nila na manalo. Minsan nga nagsasabi sila na sana mainterview naman,” said BON CHAN on how it was for his boys after snapping a winless two-week stretch.
“I think na sa nafeel nila ngayon, ito yung tipo na hahanap-hanapin nila. Na hindi na nila gugustuhin kung anuman yung naranasan nila nung mga naunang weeks.”
In Game 1, Michael “MP the King” Endino (Alice) delivered a Game MVP performance, sealing the win with a decisive Flowing Blood – Blood Ode combo early in the 16th minute. The play triggered a crucial pickoff during an inhibitor turret siege, paving the way for victory less than a minute later.
Despite dropping Game 2, Twisted Minds dominated the rubber match, highlighted by MP the King’s double kill during a 13th-minute Lord fight that resulted in a series-clinching 5-0 wipeout.
The 20-year-old jungler finished with an immaculate 7-0-9 KDA to lead a lopsided 17-3 kill score.
Twisted Minds will aim to build momentum when they face defending champions Onic Philippines on March 23.
