Creamline beefs up with Michele Gumabao, Melissa Gohing

Months away from the start of the Premier Volleyball League season, the Creamline Cool Smashers are already looking like heavy favorites.

The Cool Smashers have officially announced the addition of Michele Gumabao and Melissa Gohing. The two will reunite after being apart for a year.

Gumabao will be returning to the PVL after a year with Philippine Superliga club Cocolife. The 5-foot-10 opposite spiker helped the Asset Managers to a surprising fourth place finish in the 2017 Grand Prix.

It is still unknown if her partnership with United VC will still remain.

On the other hand, Gohing, a three-time PVL Best Libero, jumps ship after leading the Lady Warriors to three straight titles. This ends her five-year stay with the Federated Distributors Inc. She has been with them since 2014 when the team was called as the Philips Gold Lady Slammers.

Gohing’s departure will be a huge blow to her former team Pocari Sweat. The Lady Warriors will team up with the Philippine Air Force Lady Jet Spikers for the upcoming season.

The two MGs will join a stacked Creamline lineup looking for the franchise’s first title which includes four-time PVL MVP Alyssa Valdez and reigning PVL Best Setter Jia Morado.

The Rebisco-owned franchise finished in third place during the Reinforced and Open Conferences.

Creamline reportedly is looking to add current National University Lady Bulldog Risa Sato. The official announcement for the inclusion of the Fil-Japanese middle hitter will most likely come after UAAP Season 80.
