La Salle pays tribute to Ateneo after hard-fought series

After the classic three-game series that pitted two age-old rivals in the UAAP Season 80 Men’s Basketball Finals, La Salle made sure to show sportsmanship after suffering a heartbreaking loss to Ateneo by lighting up the St. La Salle building with blue lights, Sunday evening. This was La Salle’s way of congratulating their arch-rivals and giving them a good fight.

Seeing the photo trend on social media, key Ateneo personalities shared their thoughts on this show of solidarity by La Salle.

“I can only see graciousness and bigness of heart here,” tweeted Ateneo president Fr. Jett Villarin, SJ.

“This is one evening to remember.”

“Thank you La Salle for such a gracious and sportsmanlike gesture. An example to emulate,” tweeted Ateneo Men’s Basketball program booster Manny V. Pangilinan.

The lights of the building usually changes on special occasions. Last June 12, the colors of the Philippine flag lit the walls of the infrastructure.
