Nexplay EVOS zoomed to the third spot after securing a crucial 2-0 sweep against cellar-dwelling TNC in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight, Sunday night.
Coming from the sixth spot, Nexplay EVOS collected three big points from the sweep to overtake RSG PH, Omega Esports, and ECHO to claim the third spot with 18 points through a 5-7 standing.
Nexplay EVOS closed out TNC in Game One off a steady Natan performance from John Paul “H2wo” Salonga in the late game.
The Nexplay EVOS jungler took the SMART 5G MVP with six kills and three assists without a single death in the tight 11-9 win in 21 minutes and three seconds.
“Nung pagbalik po namin dito, dami po naming pinagusapan din tungkol sa team tapos inayos po namin lahat ng problema,” said Nexplay EVOS coach John Michael “Zico” Dizon.
Nexplay EVOS then overcame an early disadvantage in Game Two to secure the 2-0 sweep over the skidding TNC.
A clash entering the 25th minute saw EVOS take down Patrick “P-GOD” Ibarra (Kagura), Clarense “Kousei” Camilo (Alice), and Frediemar “3MarTzy” Serafico (Esmeralda). That then gave them the chance to go for the death push.
Jeniel “Haze” Bata-anon’s Pharsa was named the SMART 5G MVP with seven kills, two deaths, and 10 assists in the 25:05-minute Game Two.
TNC remained at the last spot still with 11 points off a 3-9 standing.
Nexplay EVOS will next face RSG PH to open the final week on Friday at 6:00 PM. Meanwhile, TNC will fight Omega Esports later in the day at 8:00 PM.
