Double loss for FEU as Celine Domingo doubtful for Game 2

Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws’ breakout star in 2018 Celine Domingo may be out for the program’s biggest match of the PVL Collegiate Conference.

The middle blocker aggravated a knee injury early in the fifth set of their Game One loss to the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons in the Finals.

Domingo, who had to be carried out of the court and into their dugout, had been suffering from Plica Syndrome, FEU’s Physical Therapist Marilou Regidor revealed.

“Wala namang major injury si Celine sa knee. Kaya lang, may tinatawag Plica Syndrome na meron siya which is caused by overuse,” said Regidor.

“Kailangan siyang i-rest and mag-heal. Napaluhod kasi siya kanina kaya doon nag-trigger ‘yung pain. With due rest, makaka-recover naman siya.”

For now, Regidor and the rest of the FEU staff are waiting to see if Domingo’s condition will improve before Game Two on Wednesday.

“Depende after ko siya i-test. Depende sa functionality niya sa training. Pero, magfo-follow up pa rin kami sa doctor,” added Regidor.

“Napa-MRI na namin siya. Wala namang major tear. Meron siyang patellar tendonitis before, pero nama-manange naman namin. This time kasi hindi na siya pamamaga. May something inside her knee na nagko-cause ng pain.”
