From transferring from UE to FEU to winning UAAP Season 80’s Best Blocker award, Celine Domingo faces a heftier role with the Lady Tamaraws.
FEU’s face of the program for five years Bernadeth Pons exhausted her collegiate playing eligibility. With that, someone has to take the lead.
In the PVL Collegiate Conference, the Lady Tams are without high-scoring opposite hitter Toni Basas, who is recovering from an ear infection. With a gaping hole in their offense, Domingo has shown she can carry some of the cudgels.
After scoring 14 points in their first win against the CSB Lady Blazers, the wiry middle blocker tallied a career-best 22 markers to lift the Lady Tamaraws past the San Beda Lady Red Spikers.
With the Lady Tams feeding her the ball, the 5-foot-10 spiker has displayed her potentially efficient form.
There is pressure, but Domingo is quick to embrace her new role.
Tsaka nag-uusap kami nila ate at nung mga bata namin na mag-tulungan talaga kami,” the 20-year-old said.
