Carlos Yulo took silver in the men’s vault apparatus final with 14.950 in the 51st FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, Sunday evening (Philippine time) at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
The reigning World champion in the apparatus was on fire at the onset after a good execution of the Ri Se Gwang II (Piked Dragulescu) seeing him take a 15.000.
Yulo followed it up with his usual take of the Kasamatsu double full with 14.900 for the eventual total.
Yulo’s score stood on top until the last two gymnasts where Armenian Artur Davtyan took the vault table. Eventually, the 2022 Tokyo Olympic Games bronze medalist snagged the lead and eventually the gold with 15.050.
Igor Radivilov of Ukraine, who followed Yulo in the order, completed the podium with 14.733.
Yulo will try for another medal when he competes in the parallel bars’ apparatus finals later at 11:25 p.m.
