Action PH waved goodbye to its group stage hopes after being eliminated by FULL SENSE via a 0-2 sweep in the decider match of the VALORANT Champions Tour Asia-Pacific Stage 1: Challengers Playoffs play-in, Sunday afternoon.
FULL SENSE started off hot with a six-to-nothing lead at Split in Game Two. It looked like Action had found their footing after a double kill from Philip “Aryu” Vergara’s Omen and Franc Lenard “ABATMAN” Mejia’s Killjoy in successive rounds.
That, however, was the last time Action PH tasted a round win as FULL SENSE closed the half with a 4-0 run, leaving APH behind by eight, 2-8.
At the start of the second half, Chanawin “JohnOlsen” Nakchain’s Jett went berserk, putting up an Ace in Round 13 using only a ghost pistol. FULL SENSE eventually sealed the series by winning the next two rounds to bury APH with a 2-13 defeat.
JohnOlsen owned Game Two, finishing with 29 kills, and an absurd 520 Average Combat Score while only dying six times. APH on the other hand, struggled with no one reaching double-digit kills.
With the loss, Action PH has been eliminated from the tournament; while FULL SENSE has advanced to the group stage.
Despite picking the map, Action PH struggled heavily in Game One at Haven.
After they took the first two rounds, APH lost eight of the next 10 rounds. The Filipinos trailed by four in the first half, eventually losing the opener via a 5-13 result.
It was JohnOlsen who carried the offensive load for the side of FULL SENSE. He finished with 26 kills, while ABATMAN finished with 13 for Action.
