Trebor admits Team Falcons struggling to adapt to new patch: ‘Nag-back to zero kami’

By: Jerod Orcullo

Four weeks into MPL Philippines Season 15, Team Falcons has firmly established itself as one of the top three contenders for the coveted first seed, alongside Team Liquid Philippines and Aurora.

That’s why it was shocking to witness AP.Bren — one of the league’s bottom-dwelling teams — dominate a lineup that once hoisted the M-Series World Championship trophy.

And it wasn’t just a one-man show. Every single member of AP.Bren’s squad stepped up to secure the opening match of the series.

In the team’s post-match press conference, Michael Angelo “KyleTzy” Sayson admitted that one of the key reasons for their Game 1 loss was underestimating Jefferdson “kkd0t” Mogol’s Jawhead.

“Siguro ano, hindi lang namin nirespeto yung Jawhead nila. Kahit alam naman namin na puro Jawhead sila nung mga nakaraang laban nila. Tapos parang naging passive din kami nung Game 1 kaya kami natalo,” he said.

In an exclusive interview with Tiebreaker Times, Falcons head coach Robert “Trebor” Sanchez revealed another factor that contributed to their downfall — struggling to adapt to the new patch, which was released just two days before the start of Week 4 on March 19.

“Tingin ko ano eh. Sobrang ano pa rin talaga namin eh, parang nag-back to zero kami. Hindi katulad nung nakaraang patch kasi parang kami agad nakakakapa ng drafting, ngayon para kaming zero sa draft kaya tingin ko mapapalaban tayo ngayong season,” Trebor explained.

“Nag-eexperiment pa kami kaya parang sa scrim namin, lagi kaming talo kasi sobrang hindi pa namin gamay yung patch ngayon.”

With their final match of the first round set for Sunday at 7:30 PM, Team Falcons has less than 24 hours to make adjustments before facing an undefeated Aurora squad, which is coming off a hard-fought victory against Team Liquid PH earlier today.
