Tictac confident Team Liquid PH can clinch upper bracket despite Team Falcons loss

By: Arjohn Roxas

Team Liquid PH head coach Harold “Tictac” Reyes remains confident that his squad can clinch the final upper bracket slot in the MPL Philippines Season 16 playoffs, despite falling short against Team Falcons PH ahead of their final regular season match.

In an exclusive interview with Tiebreaker Times, Tictac expressed his firm belief that Team Liquid PH will secure the last upper bracket berth even in a tight race against ONIC Philippines.

“Actually, sobrang confident namin na makapag-upper bracket if manalo kami bukas,” Tictac said, underscoring the team’s strong morale despite their recent setback.

Their playoff fate hangs in the balance on the outcome of their crucial match against AP.Bren.

Tictac shared that the Cavalry is channeling its focus on two key aspects — consistency and communication — which he believes will be vital to their postseason success.

He also emphasized the importance of reaching the upper bracket, noting that it provides a safety net during the playoffs and extra time to prepare for potential opponents.

“Sobrang halaga kasi [ng upper bracket]. Sabi nga natin, dalawa ‘yung buhay natin sa playoffs if ever na makapag-upper bracket tayo. Additional pa, makikita natin agad ‘yung isang team na possible makalaban, kung ano ‘yung ilalabas nilang strat, so parang ang laking bagay noon,” he explained.

Looking ahead, Tictac hinted at possible adjustments for the playoffs, including tweaks to hero compositions and surprise picks to keep opponents on their toes. He stressed that the team intends to apply all the lessons they’ve learned throughout the regular season and bring out their best form when it matters most.

“Reset lang. Lahat ng natutunan namin during the regular season, ia-apply namin sa practice papuntang playoffs. Kailangan talaga — all-in talaga,” Tictac said.
