SpiderMilez make impressive MPL PH 14 debut as Fnatic ONIC extends streak to 9

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

Fnatic ONIC Philippines continued their dominance in MPL Philippines Season 14, handing Blacklist International their eighth loss with a commanding 2-0 sweep on Saturday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.

The series also marked the debut of Brian “SpiderMilez” Santos, who made an immediate impact in Game 2.

Playing as Carmilla, he played a pivotal role in extending Fnatic ONIC’s winning streak to nine.

SpiderMilez delivered the game’s defining moment during a 25th-minute lord skirmish, landing a four-man Curse of Blood ultimate.

This allowed Duanne “Kelra” Pillas (Karrie) and Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez (Valentina) to each secure a double kill, leaving Jhon “Lord JM” Sebastian (Hylos) as the lone defender of Blacklist’s base.

SpiderMilez finished the game with 13 assists and only two deaths, while Kelra and Super Frince combined for nine kills and 12 assists.

“I think ganoon pa rin eh. Same ideas before. Simula nag-start ang game, draft pa lang, hanggang matapos, hindi sila tumigil maglaro ng ML,” said head coach Anthony “Ynot” Sendrin during the post-match interview.

“Nakakatuwa marinig yung comms ng team kase as several knows, this was the first games of Milez. Ang naririnig mo lang kase sa comms nila ay hanap solusyon. Wala kang naririnig na kahit anong excess. Syempre magulo, madaldal, etc., pero from time to time, puro solusyon sa problema yung maririnig mo.”

King “K1NGKONG” Perez’s Ling was the biggest threat in Game 1, dominating the map and securing most of the objectives.

His standout moment came during a 10th-minute lord skirmish, where he achieved a Maniac, helping his team even out the gold lead to 30.2k each.

K1NGKONG was named the match MVP, finishing the opener with a flawless KDA of six kills and four assists.
