Caloy Yulo showed his pedigree on the floor with a second consecutive title.
The 2019 World champion in the apparatus dominated the field with a huge 15.200. He completes his defense of the two titles he held in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, Sunday at the Quan Ngua Sports Palace in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Yulo annexed his second gold of the Games after winning the all-around title by a mile on Friday. He still has two apparatus finals left in the day with the pommel horse and the still rings.
With a high difficulty of 6.300, it was a matter of execution that pulled the score for the 2020 Tokyo Olympian. An execution score of 8.900 showed an evident solid performance for Yulo for the gold.
Singapore’s Terry Tay Wei An ended with the silver with 14.033, while Vietnam’s Hai Khang Trinh bagged the bronze with 14.000.
John Ivan Cruz finished fourth for the Philippines as he edged out hometown bet Le Thanh Tung with 13.833, as the latter finished with 13.733.
