Even Baser Amer is aware of the rumors swirling that he’s on the move.
Just recently, Amer’s name has been dragged into trade rumors, claiming that he will be part of a three-team trade involving his team Meralco Bolts, their sister team TNT KaTropa, and the rebuilding Blackwater Elite.
“Yes, yes. Nabasa ko.
“May mga nagse-send ng link, at may mga nagtatanong,” disclosed the 26-year-old guard during the first-ever PBA Media Day, Thursday afternoon at The Tent at Solaire Hotel and Casino in Pasay City.
The rumors were clearly a surprise when the emerged, since Amer has been a major part of the Bolts.
Last season, one of San Beda’s all-time greats played an average of 30.2 minutes per game, and posted norms of 12.4 points on a decent 42.8 percent shooting from the floor along with 4.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists.
His finest outing in the previous season came during the Commissioner’s Cup in May, where he fired 28 points spiked by five three-pointers to power his Bolts to a 93-85 victory over then-defending champs San Miguel Beer.
Now, is Amer bothered by all the talk?
“Hindi naman,” quipped Amer. “Kaming mga player kasi, ‘di namin control yung mga ganun eh. Professional lang kami. Kaming mga player naglalaro lang. Kung ano yung mga pinapagawa ng coaches, sinusunod lang namin.
‘Nasa Meralco pa naman ako … Same work ethic pa rin.”
