Rubie De Leon has been tapped by Sta. Lucia to be its assistant coach.
The setter, who is a three-time Shakey’s V-League Best Setter, will be part of the staff of newly-minted head coach Edgar Barroga.
The Lady Realtors made the announcement on their social media pages.
“The team is adjusting kasi,” De Leon said. “We are going to try a new strategy kasama ang new coaching staff.
“With this, I think mas makaka-contribute ako sa team by guiding them lalo na ang setters.”
De Leon only played a few games for the Lady Realtors in the PVL bubble. She cited that she was nursing a minor injury.
The 41-year-old, though, remains steadfast that she will continue playing, saying that retirement is still far from her mind.
“Ang gusto ko lang is kung magre-retire man ako, I want to do it on my own terms.”
