The Philippine National Volleyball Federation will be sanctioning Sta. Lucia after it pulled out of the 2021 Champions League.
According to the federation, the Lady Realtors were initially one of seven teams that committed to join the inaugural nationals. The tournament also has the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, the Perlas Spikers, the Petro Gazz Angels, the Cherry Tiggo Crossovers, the Baguio Highlanders, and the California Precision Sports.
Since Sta. Lucia withdrew from the competition after the October 29 draw, they will now face a fine of P50,000.
The Women’s Champions League will take place from November 20-25 at the Aquamarine Gym in Lipa City, Batangas.
The PNVF also raised that Sta. Lucia did not pay the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) a $1,500 fee for MJ Phillips’ International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
Phillips, who is registered under USA Volleyball, played for Sta. Lucia in the 2021 PVL Open Conference.
Phillips left the country on Wednesday after playing for Choco Mucho in the AVC Women’s Club Championship.
