Roel Rosauro, Krisna Limbaga falter in ONE debuts

The debuts of Filipino Muay Thai specialists Roel Rosauro and Krisna Limbaga did not go as expected, falling in their respective ONE Championship debuts during Quest for Gold, Friday evening at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.

Rosauro succumbed to Li Kai Wen in the opener of the main card of the event just 43 seconds into the bout.

“The Underdog” dominated from the opening bell, as he charged across the cage to engage with his Filipino adversary. He immediately hurt and overwhelmed his opponent with aggressive shots, leaving no room for Rosauro to work his Muay Thai strikes.

“Akiyama” was forced to attempt a takedown in an effort to desperately avoid taking further punishment from the fired-up Chinese wrestler.

Li easily shrugged off the takedown attempt, and after forcing Rosauro to the canvas against the cage, locked up a standing guillotine choke. The Filipino had no choice but to tap out just 43 seconds into the contest.ONE-Quest-for-Gold-Priscilla-Hertati-Lumban-Gaol-def-Krisna-Limbaga Roel Rosauro, Krisna Limbaga falter in ONE debuts Mixed Martial Arts News ONE Championship - philippine sports news

Earlier in the night, Limbaga struggled to keep pace with Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol.

The Indonesian wushu stylist needed less than a single round to put away Filipino Muay Thai specialist Krisna “Phoenix” Limbaga, all while earning her first career submission victory.

Once the bell rang to start this women’s atomweight showdown, the punches came fast and furious until Lumban Gaol brought her nemesis down. She quickly transitioned to the back with a rear-naked choke on her mind.

Limbaga did an admirable job of staying out of trouble, and eventually worked her way back to the feet, but Lumban Gaol had no intention of letting her stay there. “Thathie” quickly latched onto a head and arm throw to bring the action back to the mat.

The Indonesian then pulled off a stunning submission, as she trapped Limbaga’s arm with her legs before arching her hips to fully extend the lock on her opponent, securing the straight arm bar.
