Roel Rosauro banners Philippines in first ONE card of 2020

Roel “Akiyama” Rosauro will be the first Filipino to compete in ONE Championship this year, and the match could decide his future in the organization.

Rosauro will fly the country’s flag high when he takes on Yohan “The Iceman” Mulia Legowo at ONE: A New Tomorrow, this Friday, January 10, at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

“I know it won’t be an easy fight. Legowo won’t be a pushover ’cause we’re both hungry for a win. That’s why I gave everything during my preparation for this,” Rosauro said.

“I will go toe-to-toe with him wherever this match goes. I am ready and I am excited for this match.”

Having dropped both of his matches in The Home Of Martial Arts, Rosauro knows that he cannot afford another letdown.

The 31-year-old joined the largest martial arts organization in the world with a promising 4-1 record, though losses to “The Underdog” Li Kai Wen and “The Terminator” Sunoto derailed his momentum.

Not one to waste chances, Rosauro promises nothing short of his best in his first match in nearly 20 months.

“This is such a crucial match for me. I know I can’t afford another loss, and that’s why I’ll give everything in this match. This is the perfect opportunity for me to get more opportunities moving forward,” Rosauro said.

“I am ready. You can expect to see a determined Roel Rosauro this Friday.”

The clash is the perfect appetizer for what is expected to be a knockout of an event on Friday.

Bannering the loaded card is the rematch between reigning ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon and Jonathan “The General” Haggerty.
