PFL: Hajimehdi takes charge as Stallion Laguna sinks Maharlika Manila

Hamed Hajimehdi had an afternoon to remember as he propelled Stallion Laguna past Maharlika Manila, 2-1, in the 2022-2023 Philippines Football League, Sunday, at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.

The Iranian standout contributed a goal and an assist to give his side its second win of the season. Hajimehdi unleashed a fantastic strike to score the winning goal in the 38th minute.

Beforehand, it was the former Mendiola 1991 player which gave teammate Gabe Silva the opening he needed to score a header and level the contest for Stallion in the 10th minute of the match.

Hajimehdi’s interventions allowed Stallion Laguna to overturn an early setback. Maharlika Manila actually drew first blood within two minutes of the game when Spencer Galasa headed in Gerald Facturanan’s free-kick but it was as good as it got for Maharlika Manila in the end.

The result means that Stallion Laguna now has 6 points in the league table at the back of two straight wins while Maharlika Manila has yet to tally a point after as many matches.

Stallion Laguna will go up against Dynamic Herb Cebu next Sunday at 7:00 PM. Rizal Memorial will host both matches. On the other hand, Maharlika will return to action against the Azkals Development Team next Saturday at 4:00 PM.
