Azkals Development Team earned a 1-1 draw at the expense of a frustrated Dynamic Herb Cebu in the 2022-2023 Philippines Football League, Saturday evening, at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.
Led by skipper Stephan Schrock, the ADT managed to hold on despite the flurry of chances that came Cebu’s way.
After a goalless first half, Cebu striker Mert Altinoz tried his luck but ADT goalie Julian Schwarzer managed to make a fine stop.
The best chance of the game came soon after as Mohammed Soumah failed to direct the ball home into an open goal after Schwarzer was dispossessed while trying to play it out from the back.
With less than 15 minutes of the game left, Schwarzer again performed another fine stop against Altinoz to keep the game level.
Late in the game, Cebu defender Ren Okuda saw his header denied by the post after a fantastic cross played him in by Altinoz.
ADT winger Yrick Gallantes had a sniff at goal early in the period, only for Cebu goalkeeper Jack Zambrano to deny him with a routine stop.
The result means that both sides share a point after all their efforts. Cebu is now in fourth place in the standings with five points behind one win, two draws, and one loss.
On the other hand, the ADT is in fifth place with four points on the back of a win, a draw, and a loss.
