Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy proved to the world why he is the rightful ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion.
He added another highlight-reel finish to his resume with a third-round TKO of Magnus “Crazy Viking” Andersson in their World Title clash at the previously-recorded ONE: A New Breed III, which aired last Friday, September 18.
The 26-year-old was relentless in his World Title defense.
A huge left hand from Petchmorakot, with 30 seconds remaining in the third frame, wobbled Andersson. The referee then gave the Swedish challenger a standing eight count.
Smelling a finish, Petchmorakot pounced on his foe at the restart, connecting with another clean left hand. That forced the referee to stop the match for good and award the Petchyindee Academy standout with the win, thus improving his record to 162-35-2 (1 NC).
It capped off a victorious night for the Bangkok-based Muay Thai gym.
Petchmorakot’s teammate, Capitan Petchyindee Academy, also etched himself in the ONE Championship history books with a sensational knockout of Petchtanong Petchfergus in the kickboxing co-main event of the evening.
Capitan needed just six seconds to finish his opponent, scoring the quickest win in ONE Super Series history.
After parrying Petchtanong’s jab, Capitan countered with a lead jab and thunderous right cross that sent the six-time Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Champion crashing to the canvas, awarding Capitan the win as he improved to 141-40 in his career.
