Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy is back in action in ONE Championship, and this time he plans to execute on a more convincing performance to cement his claim as the best featherweight in ONE Super Series Muay Thai.
The Thai puts his ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title on the line when he battles Magnus “Crazy Viking” Andersson in the main event of the previously recorded ONE: A New Breed III, which airs this Friday, September 18.
The 26-year-old has been on a roll, winning his last three matches in The Home Of Martial Arts, including a World Title defense against “The Boxing Computer” Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex at ONE: No Surrender.
While there was no disputing the result, Petchmorakot plans to put all questions to rest, especially after his legendary compatriot pushed him in the early goings of their clash.
But do not expect his upcoming Swedish foe to be an easy opponent.
Andersson comes into The Home Of Martial Arts following a successful stint at Lion Fight, where he became the Super-Welterweight World Champion. Moreover, he is currently fifth in the WBC middleweight rankings.
To be able to pull the upset rug from under Petchmorakot, “Crazy Viking” has to find a way to use his reach advantage over the Petchyindee Academy star; he will be the tallest opponent Petchmorakot has faced in ONE so far.
In the co-main event, two of the best strikers in the world make their debuts as Capitan Petchyindee Academy and Petchtanong Petchfergus tangle in a ONE Super Series kickboxing bantamweight bout.
It will be a battle of winners as the pair have a combined 496 victories both in Muay Thai and kickboxing, and success on Friday could catapult one of them to number one contender status, where ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Alaverdi “Babyface Killer” Ramazanov awaits.
