With the UAAP Season 81 Men’s Basketball Finals finishing in early December, the Philippine Basketball Association has extended the deadline for submission of draft applications forms.
Instead of December 3, the league moved the deadline to December 10 so that it can accommodate the late draft hopefuls.
The UAAP Finals can end as early as December 5 or could extend until the 8th.
The Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles and the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons will figure in a best-of-three series for the championship.
Out of the remaining players in contention, Paul Desiderio has the highest profile among the graduating seniors.
The 5-foot-11 shooting guard out of Liloan, Cebu is a former all-UAAP team member. Moreover, he is a former D-League champion, as he helped steer the Go for Gold Scratchers to the 2018 Foundation Cup.
Initially, Desiderio was planning to enter next year’s draft, as UP are still in the midst of ending their 32-year championship drought in Men’s Basketball.
