Meralco added Alvin Pasaol to its lineup, as the burly forward was the ninth overall pick in the 2021 PBA Draft, Sunday afternoon.
Bolts team manager Paolo Trillo, head coach Norman Black, and do-it-all swingman Chris Newsome were on hand for the selection.
All throughout his career, the burly 6-foot-2 forward has had a reputation as an elite scorer.
Derrick Pumaren discovered Pasaol during a Filoil game that pitted UE against Holy Cross College of Davao back in 2015.
He spent two years in UE, where he averaged 20.6 points, 7.1 boards, 1.6 dimes, and 1.7 steals during his second season. In his final year, he raised his numbers to 24.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per contest, earning him a spot in the All-UAAP Season 81 team.
Pasaol did not take his final year, instead focusing on Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3, where he became a two-time champion.
Pasaol also played for Bataan and Zamboanga in the MPBL.
The 25-year-old is currently the second-ranked 3×3 player in the country.
