PBA 3×3: Vosotros, TNT dominate anew, take 2nd Conference Leg 6

TNT Triple Giga concluded the leg phase of the PBA 3×3 Second Conference in the same fashion they began it.

Gunner Almond Vosotros ignited and led a decisive run in the homestretch, securing a 21-14 victory over Cavitex Braves to clinch the final championship leg of the conference on Tuesday at Ayala Malls Trinoma.

Vosotros concluded with nine points and five rebounds, while Ping Exciminiano sealed the game with a winning two-pointer as the Triple Giga claimed their fifth title out of the six legs at stake.

The only crown that eluded TNT was the Leg 4 title, slipping from their grasp when they were defeated in the semifinals by the eventual champion MCFASolver.

Including the latest P100,000 prize money, the telecommunication franchise has now won a total of P500,000 leading into next week’s grand finals.

Chester Saldua contributed five points, while Gryann Mendoza and Exciminiano had four and three points respectively for the Triple Giga under Coach Mau Belen.

“Tulad nga ng sinasabi ko sa mga teammates ko pati sa pamilya ko, yung opportunity once lang dumating. Kaya kapag nandiyan yan sa harap mo, i-grab mo lang lagi,” said Exciminiano, whose two-pointer closed out the game with still 1:29 to go.

Vosotros scored four consecutive points, capping a 7-1 TNT run for a 19-13 lead shortly after the Braves tied the game at 12-all for the last time.

The Triple Giga finished unbeaten in winning Leg 6, including a 21-19 victory over Meralco in the semifinals and a close 18-16 win over Blackwater in the quarterfinals.

Jorey Napoles and Bong Galanza each finished with six points to lead Cavitex, which secured the runner-up purse of P50,000.
