Owa Retamar returns to Visakha VC for TVCL campaign

Owa Retamar is set to suit up once again for Visakha VC for the upcoming Techo Volleyball Cambodia League 2026 season, which runs from May to July.

Retamar shared the development on Instagram.

“Masaya ako na makabalik dito kasi maganda ang naging experience ko with the team last time. We were able to finish third, so goal namin na mas mataas pa sana ang marating,” he said.

This will be Retamar’s second stint with the club, having suited up for Visakha just earlier this year, where they finished third in the Sar Kheng Cup.

Now playing in Cambodia’s professional league, the Alas Pilipinas star is embracing the challenge of competing against tougher and more experienced imports as he aims to help Visakha VC reach greater heights this season.

Visakha settled for silver against Bodyguard Headquarters over the last two seasons and is looking to leap with the 6-foot setter in tow.

“Sa league na ito, hindi lang limited sa isa ang allowed import, kaya expected na mas magiging matindi ang bawat game. Kailangan lang mag-adjust agad sa chemistry at preparation. Trabaho agad ako bukas,” said Retamar.

The former National University star brings valuable international experience to the table, having represented Alas Pilipinas in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship, where the Philippines finished 19th overall, and in the Southeast Asian Games, helping the country capture a silver medal in 2019 and a bronze medal in the most recent edition.

In the local scene, Retamar is touted as one of the best, if not the best, playmakers with three Best Setter awards in the Spikers’ Turf and two in the UAAP.
