ONIC PH sweeps Smart Omega for back-to-back wins in MPL PH

By: Jerod Orcullo

ONIC Philippines swiftly dismantled Smart Omega with a 2-0 sweep, recording its second consecutive win in MPL Philippines Season 15, Saturday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.

The Super Family turned back the clock to its title-winning form as it took a take-no-prisoners approach against Smart Omega for the team’s second-consecutive win.

During the team’s post-game interview, ONIC head coach Anthony “YnoT” Senedrin dismissed the idea that his team was going back to its old self. Rather, he pointed out that ONIC had improved their overall mindset when it came to their matches.

“Ayoko sabihing bumalik. I think, on the way siya sa pag-upgrade. I’d like to think na inupgrade ng boys how they play, how they think in-game. It’s very good you know, a two-match win streak, pero yun nga eh again it’s one match at a time. Let’s see tomorrow kung it’s going to be the same,” YnoT said.

Reigning MVP King “K1NGKONG” Perez played another near-perfect game on Suyou dishing out a 5/0/3 KDA in a quick 10-minute and 56-second match.

In the following game, Selena once again found itself at the hands of Frince “SuperFrince” Ramirez. “The Monster Mage” had another standout performance as he secured 11 assists and two kills through the 15:07 game time.

Now with an even 3-3 record, ONIC will face Twisted Minds to open the final day of the first leg of the season at the same venue.

On the other hand, Omega will continue its hunt for its second win as it goes head-to-head against Team Falcons on March 30 at 5:00 PM.
