ONE Championship secures multi-year deal with TV5

It all started with a one-off deal last year – and now a long-term partnership between ONE Championship and TV5 has finally come to fruition.

The pair announced the multi-year deal on Tuesday, 28 July, giving The Home Of Martial Arts a new outlet on Philippine television.

The partnership kicks off with ONE: No Surrender this Friday, July 31. It will air live at 8:30 p.m. on the network’s sports channels — One Sports and One Sports+ — and it will be replayed a day later on TV5 at 11 p.m.

“It is with great excitement that I announce a multi-year partnership with one of the largest broadcasting companies in the Philippines. TV5 is the nationwide leader in digital innovation,” ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong said.

“Together, we will bring new content offerings to our fans, beginning with ONE: No Surrender, live from Bangkok.”

ONE first worked with TV5 in October 2019, as the network aired the promotion’s 100th event, ONE: Century, where it was well-received by its viewers.

Now they will get a chance to work together for the foreseeable future, and the possibilities are endless.

“Fight Sports has always been a strong content offering in CIGNAL. When the opportunity for a partnership with ONE Championship presented itself this year, we knew it was something we could not pass up,” said Sienna Olaso, FVP, Head of Channels and Content of Cignal TV.

“It started out as a one-off broadcast of ONE’s 100th event in October 2019, and because of the event’s success on our platform, we knew that a partnership like this was something that would definitely excite our CIGNAL subscribers.”

At ONE: NO SURRENDER, Filipino-Kiwi stud Mark “Tyson” Fairtex Abelardo takes on Fabrício “Wonderboy” Andrade in a 67-kilogram catchweight contest.
