The stage is set for one of the UAAP’s most highly anticipated spectacles – the 2024 UAAP Cheerdance Competition, presented by MAX, this Sunday, December 1, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
This year’s event promises a dazzling fusion of nostalgia, imagination, and jaw-dropping performances as the country’s finest collegiate cheer squads go head-to-head in a quest for glory.

The competition will kick off with the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles, who are set to tell the story of the universe’s origin through a cosmic tale.

Following them, the University of the East Pep Squad will transport the audience to the height of novelty pop, performing to hits from the iconic Sexbomb Dancers.

The legendary eight-time champion University of Santo Tomas Salinggawi Dance Troupe will continue the nostalgia, rekindling childhood memories with their “Batang ’90s” routine.

The first half will conclude with the Adamson University Pep Squad, who will get the crowd singing and dancing to beloved karaoke classics.

The second half of the program promises to turn up the heat with the University of the Philippines Varsity Pep Squad, another eight-time champion, bringing summer vibes to the Arena.

Meanwhile, the National University Pep Squad will take spectators on a galactic adventure with a space-themed performance.

The De La Salle Animo Squad will follow with an intense battle-themed routine, portraying themselves as kings and queens of the battlefield.

As the defending champions, the Far Eastern University Cheering Squad will close the event, aiming for back-to-back titles and a record-breaking 22nd podium finish. Their jaw-dropping finale is sure to leave the audience “frozen”, capping off a day of fierce competition and high-energy performances.
“We’ve officially entered that time of the year once again where the cheerers of the varsity teams will become the ones cheered. Our cheer squads are fully prepared, bringing their best stunts and routines for an unforgettable show that will bring the UAAP community together,” said UAAP Executive Director Atty. Rene “Rebo” Saguisag Jr.
UAAP Season 87 Treasurer Bo Perasol of the University of the Philippines added, “Iba po ang naibibigay sa ‘ting audience ng CDC dahil isa po ito sa kaunting time na nagsasama-sama ang lahat.”
