The world-famous “Apprentice” series gets a fiery face lift after the announcement of Apprentice: ONE Championship edition on 20 February.
Sixteen contestants from all over the world will get the chance of a lifetime to earn a US$250,000 job offer and work under the tutelage of ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong in the ONE Championship Global Headquarters in Singapore.
Besides being the founder of The Home Of Martial Arts and an accomplished martial artist, Sityodtong is also ranked in the business world. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Tufts University.
“I am thrilled to announce ‘The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition’ as our biggest foray into the non-scripted series genre,” Sityodtong said.
“This brand new concept brings a completely unique and original dimension to ‘The Apprentice’ with the high-stakes drama of real-life business competitions, coupled with herculean physical challenges, featuring some of Asia’s top CEOs, the world’s greatest martial arts World Champions, and A-list celebrities from across the continent.”
What makes this new foray stand out is the inclusion of ONE World Champions into the mix — aside from the business competitions, contestants will also be tested physically.
Twelve of Asia’s top CEOs will also take part, with each one joining Sityodtong as a guest judge during every episode.
“In combining our respective IP and assets, ONE Championship will redefine the non-scripted genre in Asia across scale and scope. ‘The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition’ just might be the toughest in the history of all Apprentice shows!” Sityodtong said.
The show will be produced by ONE Championship’s production arm, ONE Studios, and it is expected to hit streaming services and different platforms by the second half of 2020. It’s also expected to be distributed to major television channels and digital arms all over the world.
In the meantime, ONE Championship returns to The Lion City with ONE: King of the Jungle on February 28 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Three local athletes will banner the flag on that night as Honorio “The Rock” Banario battles Shannon “OneShin” Wiratchai; Mark “Tyson” Fairtex Abelardo takes on “Pretty Boy” Troy Worthen; while Denice “The Menace Fairtex” Zamboanga takes on Mei “V.V” Yamaguchi all on the lead card.
The lead card begins at 5:30 PHT on ONE’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts, or the ONE Super App.
Main card starts at 8:30 PHT on ABS CBN S+A.
