Omega keeps core intact for MPL PH 9, adds two young guns

Omega Esports kept its core intact while also adding a couple of new faces for the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Nine, Sunday night.

Still leading Omega is the 1-2 punch of Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog and Duane “Kelra” Pillas along with starters Renz “Renzio” Cadua, Kielvj “Kielvj” Hernandez, and skipper Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic.

Dean “Raizen” Sumagui — who played a crucial role for Omega Esports in the latter part of Season Nine, Romiere “Allidap” Padilla, and veteran Billy “Z4pnu” Alfonso were retained as well.

Filling the spots left by Robbie “Hito” Candoy and Dian “Dian” Cruz are 21-year-olds Jhonville “OUTPLAYED” Villar and Jefferson “Amethyst” Santos.

Outplayed previously played for Amihan Esports, SV Empire, and Z4 while Amethyst’s last team was Juicy Legends Q4 champion Origen Esports.

Omega Esports, after tallying a 5-9 standing in the regular season, managed to enter the Season Eight playoffs at the fourth seed.

The team took out ECHO in the first round before sending eventual champion Blacklist International down the lower bracket in the following phase.

Then, Omega Esports fell to ONIC PH in the winners’ final before settling for bronze after a tough 1-3 loss at the hands of the Blacklist in the lower bracket final.
