OhMyV33nus on Diggie Ban: Too much for a simple ‘stupid bug’

Despite winning their playoff series against Omega, Blacklist skipper Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna expressed frustration with the ban on Diggie that heavily affected their preparations heading into today’s do-or-die match.

Earlier today, Moonton announced the ban on one of Blacklist’s signature heroes, citing a bug that may affect fair play.

“Personally, para sa akin medyo stupid yung bug para i-autoban nila nang ganun. Kasi simple lang naman yung bug eh. Bawal ka mag-skill throughout the game para lang magkaron ka ng vision sa isang hero which is competitively speaking, bakit mo naman gagawin yun. Kaya mo namang magbigay ng vision using your bomb na makakadamage ka pa,” the Blacklist roamer said.

“Para sa akin parang too much lang na i-o-autoban siya, pwede naman irestrict yung pagkaban sa kanya katulad nung kay Faramis na bawal lang siyang mag-Fleeting Time.”

OhMyV33NUS claimed that the announcement was very last minute and did not give the team enough leeway to adjust their playoff strategies.

“Nabigla kami kasi 12 midnight na kami kagabi ininform wherein yung buong weeks na nagpractice kami included yung Diggie. At the same time, wala na kaming time para mag-prepare or para i-adjust yung pinaghandaan namin buong araw kahapon na drafts,” she continued.

“So talagang sobrang napunta kami sa disadvantage. Ayun, buti na lang kahit naban yung Diggie, kahit paano nanalo pa rin kami.”

The surprising development was a big blow to Blacklist’s championship hopes, knowing that Diggie is one of the signature picks used by OhMyV33NUS.

Diggie became Blacklist’s main counter against Echo during their M4 World Championship upper bracket series to render the opposing Chou less effective due to crowd control immunity.

Unfortunately, sobrang laking impact nun (ban) sa amin kasi knowing all the teams na maglalaro ngayon sa playoffs, alam naman natin na Blacklist talaga yung pinakanakakapag-maximize talaga ng Diggie. Isa rin yun sa mga most banned namin,” she said.

The Queen hopes that the ban will only be temporary and will enable them to fully unleash what they prepared for the postseason in tomorrow’s upper bracket match against Bren Esports.

“Hopefully ngayong araw pa lang nangyari na nagkaroon ng autoban sa playoffs which is parang weird.”

In the past, there have been instances where a hero was banned from competitive play, but it’s the first time that this incident happened during the playoffs, the most crucial stretch of the tournament.
