NU rookie tandem Kly Orillaneda, Antonette Landicho quick to make a splash

They were relative unknowns when they started, but the National University’s Kly Orillaneda and Antonette Landicho have made waves in the UAAP Season 81 Beach Volleyball Tournament.

The rookies have earned a 3-0 record to start the tournament, taking down more experienced foes in the Atneeo Lady Eagles, the UP Lady Maroons, and the UE Lady Warriors.

The Lady Bulldogs, if anything, were content to just play on the sands. The pair replaced Roma Doromal and Jasmine Nabor as NU’s main players for beach last August.

They weren’t supposed to be here, and now they’re making a name for themselves.

“Nothing to lose, everything to gain ganun lang iniisip namin,” added Orillaneda.

Both of these players only started playing competitive beach volleyball this August. Still, they’re not afraid of any of their opponents – even the country’s best player in Sisi Rondina.
