MPL PH: Lord Jmar plays best game so far, lifts Minana past Omega

Jhon Marl “Lord JMAR” Sebastian turned in his best performance this season, helping Minana EVOS snap its three-game losing skid via a dominant 2-0 win over the struggling Omega Esports in the MPL Philippines Season 12, Saturday at the Shooting Gallery Studios.

The former Archives standout nabbed back-to-back MVP citations in the series, first flaunting his prowess on Khaleed before anchoring Minana EVOS’ lopsided win in Game 2 on Edith to help Minana EVOS hike its win-loss slate to 2-6.

“Siguro yung lineup na ‘to ngayon na nanalo kami sa Omega, sobrang smooth ng composition eh. Kumbaga, yung apat na dating Archives plus pinasok namin sa gold lane si Domeng na-balance yung composition ng lineup,” said Minana head coach Jayson “Isonn” Casidsid.

“Saka sobrang proud kami kay JM ngayon kasi at least dito sa laban na pinakita niya sa Omega, talagang pinupok kasi talaga namin siya na [mag-improve] eh,” he added.

Meanwhile, after a failed attempt in the jungler role last week, Omega Esports star Duane “Kelra” Pillas once again assumed the position for Omega Esports but the move once again failed to yield a positive result as the Smart-backed squad fell to 3-5 in the standings.

Lord JMAR’s Khaleed led Minana EVOS’ early game onslaught in Game 1, scoring three kills in the team’s hot 4-0 start to give his side a slight 3K gold advantage entering the 9th minute of the match.

Omega Esports managed to keep up with Duane “Kelra” Pillas’ jungle Leomord carrying much of the load, but it was not enough as his teammates, Nowee “Ryota” Macasa (Edith) and Jomari “Jowm” Pingol (Brody), were held down by Minana EVOS throughout the match.

Lord JMAR put the icing on the cake after picking off Kelra near the bottom Lord Pit entering the 19th minute which started a four-to-nothing bloodbath for Minana EVOS.

He ended up with a game-high six kills to go along with six assists and two deaths in the 14-5 Game 1 win while Dominic “DomengDR” Del Mundo’s Irithel chipped in three kills and six assists without a death.

In Game 2, Omega Esports tried their winning formula last week centered on Kelra’s Harith, Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog’s Minotaur, and Patrick “E2max” Caidic’s Rafaela.

Minana EVOS, however, immediately dissected Omega’s sustain composition and bagged a wire-to-wire 11-1 Game 2 win in just 13 minutes and nine seconds of action.

Lord JMAR once again led the way with two kills and eight assists without a death on Edith while Ken “Kzen” Pile’s Martis had a perfect 4-0-7 KDA line.

Minana EVOS will look to sustain its momentum against TNC on Sunday, 4:00 p.m. while Omega Esports will try to break out of its slump against the fourth-ranked Blacklist International later that day at 6:30 p.m.
