MPL PH: Bren sweeps RSG for 10th win

Bren Esports shrugged off their Week 6 mishap with a dominant 2-0 sweep of RSG Slate Philippines in the penultimate week of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 11 at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati on Saturday.

Bren improved to 10-2 with 28 pts and moved a win away from securing their place in the upper bracket of the playoffs.

They successfully recovered from a stinging 2-0 loss at the hands of TNC Pro Team last March 26 that snapped their franchise-best nine-game winning streak.

According to Bren skipper Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel, last week’s loss was more of a masterful performance from TNC rather than the team making mistakes during the series.

“Yung pagkatalo namin sa last week, parang hindi naman namin nakita as error namin eh. Sobrang ganda lang talaga yung pinakita ng TNC. Lalo na si Benthings nung Game 3, kaya natalo kami sa TNC nun,” he said.

“Siguro yung binago lang namin ngayon is di kami masyadong nag-overthink sa draft saka nagstick lang kami kung san kami malakas,” he added.

The M2 world champions opened the series with pinpoint precision, taking a 5-0 lead on the kill tally by the 7th-minute courtesy of Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel’s (Valentina) 3-0-2 KDA.

Not even Eman “EMANN” Sangco’s (Beatrix) triple kill during an 11th-minute skirmish could stop Bren as they cruised to the Game 1 win late in the 14th minute. Pheww pocketed the match MVP honors with a perfect 6-0-5 KDA.

It was all the same in Game 2 as Bren continued to pounce on the hapless RSG squad led by Marco “Super Marco” Requitano (Natan) to post a commanding 15-1 lead on the kill tally.

Super Marco finished with an immaculate 8-0-3 KDA in the 11-minute affair.
