Aurora pulls off reverse sweep vs Team Falcons, tightens grip on MPL PH pole

Aurora exacted revenge on Team Falcons PH with a 2-1 reverse sweep, notching their seventh straight victory in Week 5 of the MPL Philippines Season 16 on Friday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City.

The win propelled Aurora to a 7-1 record, tightening their hold on the top spot in the standings while condemning the Team Falcons (1-7) to their seventh consecutive loss.

In Game 1, Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano (Claude) delivered the knockout blow, unleashing a perfectly timed Blazing Duet during a 15th-minute counter-engage that netted him a triple kill. That sequence proved decisive, as the M5 World Champions secured a 5-for-0 wipeout and stormed down midlane for a one-way base turret push to seize a 1-0 series lead.

But Aurora refused to stay down. The league leaders bounced back in Game 2 behind Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo (Cecilion), who turned in a flawless 2-0-14 KDA to spearhead a swift 10-minute equalizer.

Riding the momentum, Aurora overwhelmed Team Falcons in the deciding match, dictating the tempo from start to finish and sealing another lopsided 10-minute win to close out the series.
