MPL PH: AP.Bren prevails in marathon match, securing sweep over MINANA

Defending champion AP.Bren endured the second-longest game in the league’s regular season history to secure a 2-0 sweep of MINANA Evos in Week 2 of the MPL Philippines Season 13 at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City on Sunday.

It was AP.Bren’s fourth straight win, propelling them past ECHO for the top spot in the standings. The M5 World Champions have not lost a single game so far this season.

The reigning IESF World Champions had to endure a 34-minute opening game, relying on a final base turret siege where they sacrificed four bodies before Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo (Minotaur) finished off the play to avert a massive collapse, securing a 1-0 victory.

“Nahirapan kami sa MINANA kasi tinry naming bigyan ng utility heroes si Milez. So parang feel namin kaya naming tapatan. Kaya naman pero may mga error kaming nagawa kaya nahirapan din kami nung Game 1,” explained Owgwen on why they figured in a close encounter in Game 1.

In Game 2, the Hornets showcased their might, leading by as much as 13k in net worth before completing the sweep in the 17th minute on Owgwen’s (Arlott) two-man Final Slash set-up on the base turret.

AP.Bren will seek their fifth straight win against Smart Omega on April 5.
