RSG PH scored its third sweep of the season against Omega Esports, 2-0, to take the pole position in the MPL Philippines Season Nine, Saturday night.
Now with a league-high nine points, the 3-0 RSG PH grabbed the top spot from ECHO, who also has a 3-0 standing but only with eight points.
Jhonard “Demonkite” Caranto’s Fanny wreaked havoc early in Game One, bagging five kills in the first six minutes of the match to put RSG PH ahead by almost 1K in the gold department.
But despite the hot start from Demonkite, it still took RSG PH almost 21 minutes to finish the match no thanks to Omega Esports’ defense spearheaded by Jefferson “Amethyst” Santos’ Yve and Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog’s Grock.
Going for their fifth Lord in the match, RSG PH caught Dean “Raizen” Sumagui’s Paquito and Duane “Kelra” Pillas’ Moskove in the middle lane and ended the match moments after.
Demonkite finished with seven kills and eight assists against one death while Eman “Emann” Sangco’s Wanwan tallied five kills and four assists against one death in the 17-6 Game One win in 20 minutes and 39 seconds.
Arvie “Aqua” Calderon played the hero in Game Two, securing the crucial Luminous Lord in the 15:09-minute mark to lead RSG PH’s 2-0 sweep of Omega Esports.
Aqua fell right after with Raizen’s Aulus catching him off guard. Demonkite’s Danny then came to the rescue, scoring a double kill on Renz “Renzio” Cadua (Phoveus) and Raizen — leaving Amethyst the sole Omega Esports player to defend.
Demonkite collected seven kills and six assists against two deaths in the 15-9 Game Two win in 15 minutes and 58 seconds.
Omega Esports is now tied with Bren Esports at the last spot with a 0-3 record.
RSG PH will take on TNC next on Friday at 6:00 PM while Omega Esports will fight ONIC PH later that day at 8:00 PM.
