MPL: Mikko, Omega outlast Nexplay for third straight win

Omega Esports overcame a marathon Game Two to sweep Nexplay EVOS, 2-0, for its third consecutive victory in the MPL Philippines Season 10 at the ICITE Auditorium, Friday.

The SMART-backed squad tied ONIC PH at the number one spot with identical 4-1 standings while Nexplay EVOS absorbed its third loss in four outings.

After putting up a decent advantage in the early game, Omega Esports lost its grip after Nexoplay EVOS took down Renz “Renzio” Cadua’s Masha in the 17th minute which allowed them to take the second Lord.

Omega Esports, though, successfully defended Nexplay EVOS’ siege while also kick-starting the game-winning wipe that saw them chase their opponents from their base to the middle lane. Duane “Kelra” Pillas’ Claude provided the damage while Kielvj “Kielvj” Hernandez (Julian) cleaned things up and ended with a triple kill to take the early 1-0 lead.

Rookie roamer Deomark “Mikko” Tabangay (Chou) led the way with eight assists, a kill, and a death in the 16-6 Game One win while Kielvj had five kills, two deaths, and three assists.

The MPL PH Season Nine second placer then secured a 37-minute for the sweep.

Omega Esports will looks to stretch its win streak to three games against the red-hot ONIC PH tomorrow, Saturday at 6:00 PM while Nexplay EVOS looks to enter the win column anew against RSG PH on Sunday also at 6:00 PM.
