The Meralco Bolts have welcomed Jimmie Taylor as their new import this 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The team announced the development through their official social media accounts, Friday morning.
Taylor will be taking the place of Gani Lawal, who has been put in the injured/reserve list, as per the team.
Lawal has been a consistent cog for the Norman Black-mentored squad. He has averaged 28.5 points, 22.0 rebounds, and 1.17 steals in the six games he has played this conference.
Lawal had 27 and 26 versus the Alaska Aces last June 9, but they lost, 89-93. In that defeat, Black called out Lawal for not involving his teammates much, as he only had an assist against eight errors.
The Orangemen are currently 3-3 in the team standings.
Meanwhile, Taylor – a 23-year-old, 6-10 center out of Alabama who has played in the NBA G-League as well as in Greece and in Poland – will suit up versus TNT KaTropa this Saturday, June 15.
