Meralco clarifies Johnny O’Bryant situation

Meralco team manager Paolo Trillo clarified that Johnny O’Bryant is still committed to the Bolts despite already signing a contract with Shanghai.

“The report about him playing in China is for next month after his stint with us,” Trillo told Tiebreaker Times.

On Monday, reputable sports outlet Sportado reported that O’Bryant has signede with the Sharks.

None other than the 29-year-old American’s agent Charles Misuraca of SLASH Sports confirmed the development.

However, Trillo is not denying that Meralco is already shopping around for a new import.

“Yes, we talked about replacing him,” continued Trillo.

O’Bryant is currently averaging 26.0 points, 14.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.

Meralco is just 1-5 in the standings so far.
