MDL PH: GameLab already assured upper bracket with 8th win

GameLab secured their upper bracket seeding after surviving a tight 2-1 thriller over Smart Omega Neos in Week 5 of the Mobile Legends Development League (MDL) Philippines Season 1 on Thursday.

They improved to 8-3 with 25pts to lead Group A with RSG Ignite (6-5) coming in second at 18pts. Both teams only have two games left this season.

JM “Aizawa” Fernandez played a superb performance on Faramis in the rubber match that provided the needed sustain as GameLab overwhelmed their rivals with an 18-10 kill spread. He nabbed the match MVP honors in the decider with a 4-2-7 KDA.

Omega fell (20pts) to 7-4 but still assured of a playoff spot with TNC Neo currently at 2-9 (6pts) in Group B.

Onic Arsenals also kept their playoff run alive after a 2-0 shutout win over ZOL Esports.

Goldlaner Bert “Bert” Segovia finished with an impressive performance during his match against former RSG Philippines goldlaner Joshwell Christian “Iy4knu” Manaog. He finished with a 7-2-3 KDA on the Karrie pick to take the Game 2 MVP.

In the final match of Week 5, Bren Euphoria Esports sent Blacklist Academy to dangerous waters after taking a 2-0 win.

With the loss, Blacklist Academy is now in danger of missing the playoffs going into their last two matches of the season.

Bren (16pts) is already assured of a playoff spot with ZOL and TNC Neo at 6pts with two matches left.

After Blacklist equalized courtesy of a rousing Game 2 victory, midlaner Joshua “Ryujin” Ramos delivered a spectacular Game 3 performance finishing with an 8-2-3 KDA for the match MVP honors
