Mac-Tino combination lifts SMART Omega to 4-0 in DPC SEA lower div

McNicholson “Mac” Villanueva and Justin “Tino” Grimaldo joined hands in Game Three as Smart Omega Esports outlasted Galaxy Racer via a 2-1 decision in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021: S1 – Southeast Asia Lower Division, Thursday evening.

Mac registered a clean 16-0-6 stat line while playing Medusa in the series-clinching match. On the other hand, Tino finished with 16 kills and 10 assists against five deaths using Ember Spirit.

Omega Esports remain the only undefeated squad in the lower division with a 4-0 slate.

Tino capped his monster performance with a triple kill, while Mac took care of the rest. Together, they out the entire Galaxy Racer squad to seal the 35-17 win in just 37 minutes and 56 seconds.

Jun “Bok” Kanehara tallied a game-high 21 assists with his offlane Shadow Demon. Meanwhile, team captain Marvin “Boomy” Rushton (Void Spirit) and Bryle “cml” Alvizo (Nyx Assassin) had a combined total of 39 assists and three kills against eight deaths.

On the other hand, Vincent “AlaCrity” Hiew Teck Yoong’s Slark was the lone bright spot for the Malaysian squad in Game Three with four kills and four assists laced with two deaths. However, the Galaxy Racer carry was held to just an 18,235-net worth through 510 gold per minute.

Omega Esports won the nip and tuck Game One wherein they secured a total of five Aegis in the match that lasted for 64 minutes and 21 seconds.

Mac (Gyrocopter) and Tino (Templar Assassin) were the catalysts once more for the Smart-backed squad in the opening match. The former posted 22 kills and 20 assists against six deaths; meanwhile, the latter had 16 kills and 17 assists laced with six deaths.

Galaxy Racer evened up the series riding AlaCrity’s Morphling, who finished with a perfect 14-0-12 line.

The Filipinos tried to replicate their Game One victory by fielding in Mac’s Gyrocopter. Unfortunately, the Southeast Asian Games gold medalist saw themselves held to just five kills, 10 deaths, and three assists. Omega was outscored by Galaxy Racer, 8-37, in the 34:41-minute match.

Omega Esports will try and extend its winning streak to five games against Lilgun on February 11, Thursday.
