Lusty, FlapTzy take responsibility for BREN’s loss to ECHO

Allan “Lusty” Castromayor and David “FlapTzy” Canon shouldered the blame for BREN Esports’ tough debut loss against ECHO, Saturday night.

Coming off a tough Game One loss, the reigning world champions had the chance to even the series at 1-all after a strong early game showing from Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Hayabusa) and FlapTzy (Esmeralda).

However, a series of miscommunications resulted in back-to-back losses in team fights which ultimately cost them the win.

Entering the 12-minute mark of Game Two, Lusty (Khufra) and FlapTzy managed to get a hold of Christian “Rafflesia” Fajura’s Chou near ECHO’s serpent pit with CJ “Ribo” Ribo (Beatrix) bagging the kill.

Lusty, though, went deep into enemy lines, with FlapTzy immediately jumping off followed by the rest of the BREN Esports contingent. According to the two-time MPL Philippines champion, he pulled the trigger on the Tyrant’s Rage to try and limit the casualties on their side.

However, he failed to call retreat which forced his teammates to come to his aid – leading to the three-man wipe.

“Nung clash na na-wipeout kami, comms,” said Lusty during BREN Esports’ post-game press conference.

The MPL Season Six champions had one last chance to salvage the match, but Rafflesia pulled off a fancy Way of the Dragon on FlapTzy which then led to a five-man wipe for the side of ECHO.

ECHO went on to finish the match, taking their first win of the season after losing to ONIC PH in their debut yesterday.

Bren Esports will next face RSG PH tomorrow at 4:00 PM.
