KurtTzy admits using Johnson only when bored, does wonders for ECHO

ECHO closed out its 2-0 sweep of Blacklist International in the grandest of ways on Sunday afternoon.

Fielding in a composition centered on Jankurt “KurtTzy” Matira’s Johnson, ECHO made quick work of the back-to-back defending champions through a lopsided 20-6 Game Two outing.

KurtTzy showcased his superb driving skills on Johnson, leading key pickoffs in the win which allowed ECHO to dominate the match. He also played the closer, setting up a three-man stun in the final siege which resulted in a five-man wipe.

The former Omega Esports standout delivered a game-high 17 assists along with two deaths in just 14 minutes and 19 seconds.

It was indeed a new flavor to ECHO’s conquest of the MPL Philippines Season Nine. So, how did ECHO come up with the strategy?

According to KurtTzy, he usually plays Johnson during his spare time, practicing the hero’s Rapid Touchdown in training mode.

“Pag po bored kasi ako yun lang po ginagawa ko sa account ko,” revealed KurtTzy in the post-match interview.

From there, the team picked it up and tried it in scrimmages. Impressed with the results, the team stored it in its bag of tricks, eventually letting it out against Blacklist International

“Nagda-drive po ng Johnson tapos nung tinry po naming gamitin, ayun po ako na lang po nag-Johnson,” he added.

The win helped ECHO reclaim the top spot with 11 points through a 4-0 standing.

Next up for the red-hot ECHO is fellow unbeaten squad RSG PH on Saturday at 6:00 PM
