Kobe Paras not renewed by Niigata, enters free agency

Kobe Paras will not be making his return to Niigata for the 2022-23 B.League season.

Albirex BB announced on Friday that Paras’ deal with the team has expired and will be entering the league’s free agents portal at 3:00 PM (Japan time).

Paras, 24, forwent his final playing year at University of the Philippines back in the summer of 2021.

The 6-foot-6 winger then signed a one-year deal with Niigata.

In 49 games played, Paras averaged 8.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.

Paras and Niigata’s other imports sat out Niigata’s last two games of the season.

Niigata finished with a league-worst record, compiling a 7-45 slate.
